The Drayton Wiser Multi-Zone Kit 1 is a complete smart heating starter system designed for homes with combination boilers. The kit includes everything required to transform your central heating into an intelligent, app-controlled multi-zone system — a 1-Channel Wiser HubR, a wireless Room Thermostat, two Smart Radiator Thermostats, all necessary adapters, and batteries.

Replacing existing TRV heads is straightforward: simply unscrew the old heads and fit the Wiser Radiator Thermostats in their place. The kit includes M30×1.5mm ring nuts and adapters for Drayton and Danfoss RA valve bodies, covering around 90% of UK TRV valve bodies with no drain-down required. Add further Wiser Radiator Thermostats at any time to extend zone-by-zone control across your entire home, up to 16 independent zones with up to 63 devices.

The Wiser Home app delivers intuitive scheduling, energy insights, Eco and Away modes, and remote control from anywhere. Voice control is available via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT integration.

Start with the Room Thermostat and 2 Radiator Thermostats included in this kit. Add individual Wiser Radiator Thermostats at any time for more zones — up to 16 in total. There is no need to replace the Hub when expanding. Compatible with the full Wiser 2nd Generation Smart Home range including window/door sensors, water leak detectors, motion sensors and smoke alarms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this kit compatible with my combi boiler? The Wiser HubR in Kit 1 connects via OpenTherm to any OpenTherm-compatible combi boiler, or via standard relay switching for non-OpenTherm boilers. It is not suitable for conventional boilers with separate hot water cylinders — choose Kit 2 (WV724R9K0902) for those systems.

Do I need to drain my system to fit the Radiator Thermostats? In most cases, no. If your radiators already have mechanical TRVs fitted, you can simply unscrew the old heads and replace them with Wiser Radiator Thermostats using the supplied ring nuts and adapters — no drain-down required. If you are fitting to bare valve bodies without existing TRV heads, a partial drain-down may be needed.

Will the supplied adapters fit my TRV valves? The kit includes M30×1.5mm ring nuts (the UK standard), Drayton valve adapters and Danfoss RA valve adapters. Together these cover approximately 90% of UK TRV valve bodies. For Myson valve bodies made before 1997, the Myson TRV Adapter (TRV22830ADAP, available separately) is required.

Can I add more radiator thermostats later? Yes. This kit supports up to 16 independent zones with up to 63 Wiser devices. Additional Wiser Radiator Thermostats (sold separately) can be added at any time and paired through the app in minutes.

Is there a monthly subscription for the Wiser app? No. The Wiser Home app is free to download and use with no subscription fee required. Remote access, scheduling, energy insights and all features are included at no ongoing cost.

Does the system work without an internet connection? The Wiser system continues to operate heating schedules and allow local adjustment at the thermostat and radiator heads without internet. Remote access via the app and voice control require an active internet connection.

Is this product Boiler Plus compliant? Yes.
