A tamper-proof, non-replaceable lithium battery powers the alarm for its entire 10-year service life. There is no need for annual battery changes, and the end-of-life signal alerts you when replacement is due — making it ideal for landlords and rental properties where maintenance visits need to be minimised.

The built-in RF radio module allows wireless interconnection with up to 11 additional compatible Honeywell Home R200 series alarms (smoke, CO, and heat) without any wiring. When one alarm detects a hazard, all linked alarms sound simultaneously, ensuring occupants are warned throughout the entire property.

Unlike optical smoke alarms, the R200H-N1 uses a thermistor-based heat sensor that responds to rising temperature rather than airborne particles. This makes it perfectly suited to kitchens, garages, boiler rooms, and utility spaces where cooking fumes or steam would trigger nuisance alarms from a conventional smoke detector.

An alarm memory function provides a visual LED indication of any previous alarm activation — useful when the alarm has triggered while nobody was home. The unit also automatically self-tests its sensor and electronics periodically to detect faults, and will indicate any problem with a clearly distinguishable audible fault tone.

The ultra-slim, compact profile keeps the alarm low-profile on ceiling or wall. The entire front face of the unit acts as a single large test/silence button — no hunting for a small recess button. The 85 dB sounder ensures the alarm can be heard throughout a typical home when activated.

In the event of a non-hazardous false activation, the sounder can be silenced for up to 10 minutes with a single press. Fault tones can be muted for up to 9 hours to avoid nuisance noise while the cause is investigated. A do-not-disturb night mode further reduces unnecessary interruptions overnight.
