Landscape Orientation Single Panel G1 & M10 Module Formats All-in-One Flashing Kit Clearline Fusion System BBA & MCS Certified Viridian Solar

The Viridian Clearline Fusion VAL16 is the dedicated single-panel landscape roofing kit for the Clearline Fusion in-roof solar system. Where a multi-panel array uses separate F16-LL (Left) and F16-LR (Right) kits for its edge columns, the VAL16 combines both edge flashings into a single all-in-one kit — providing everything needed to integrate one Clearline PV16 module in landscape orientation (long axis horizontal) as a standalone installation. Available in G1 format for PV16-335-G1 modules and M10 format for PV16-405-M10 modules. Like all Clearline Fusion kits, the VAL16 replaces the roof covering around the panel completely — no above-roof brackets, no visible racking, no adhesive flashing rolls. The finished installation sits flush with the surrounding roof for a genuinely integrated appearance.

ℹ️ When to use VAL16 vs F16-LL + F16-LR: Use the VAL16 when installing a single panel on its own in landscape orientation — for example, a 1×1 array or a standalone panel added to an existing Clearline installation. Use F16-LL + F16-LR (plus F16-LC, F16-LY, F16-LJ as required) when building a multi-column landscape array of two or more panels. The VAL16 cannot be used as part of a multi-panel array.

Variant Selection

MPN Module Format Compatible Module Module Dimensions Kit Weight Kit Length
VIR-VAL16-G1 G1 PV16-335-G1 1,000 × 1,686 mm 21 kg 1.8 m
VIR-VAL16-M10 M10 PV16-405-M10 1,134 × 1,722 mm 21 kg

⚠️ G1 and M10 kits are not interchangeable. G1 kits are dimensioned for PV16-G1 modules (686mm landscape height); M10 kits are dimensioned for PV16-M10 modules (722mm landscape height). Always match the kit format to your panel model. Do not mix formats on the same installation.

What's in the Kit

  • Sill flashing — bottom edge weathering piece that integrates with the tiles or slates below the panel
  • Left and right side flashings — full-height side seals for both edges of the single panel (combined in one kit — no need to buy separately)
  • Top flashing — upper edge piece sealing the junction between the panel head and the tile/slate course above
  • Gutter assembly — directs any water ingress away from the roof structure beneath
  • Gutter cover — decorative and protective cover over the gutter channel
  • Rafter brackets and combi-rafter brackets — structural attachment to roof rafters; no extra battens required
  • Joining strip — seals the inter-panel zone (top edge of panel)
  • All fixings — stainless steel screws, clips and fasteners included; nothing to source separately

Key Features

  • Designed specifically for single-panel landscape installations — the all-in-one VAL16 eliminates the need to purchase separate left and right edge kits for a 1-panel array
  • Replaces the roof covering completely — tiles or slates in the panel area are removed and the Clearline kit provides full weatherproofing; no secondary waterproofing layer required
  • Flush in-roof appearance — panel sits lower in the roofline than above-roof racking systems; no visible brackets, rails or fixings from ground level
  • Compatible with tile and slate roofs — works universally with all commonly used plain tile, profiled tile, and natural or fibre cement slate; also compatible with sarking board roofs with SB16 sarking bracket kit
  • Batten compatibility 22–40mm — standard 25mm batten depth included; accessories available for 22mm (B22) and 40mm (B40) batten depths
  • Pitch range 20°–60° — suitable for the full range of UK domestic roof pitches
  • Certified wind resistance 5.32 kPa (G1) / 4.65 kPa (M10) — more than double the certified wind resistance of many competitor products
  • BRoof fire rating Class B, T1–T4 (EN 13501-5) — highest UK in-roof fire classification
  • BBA Certificate 0032 / MCS 005 / MCS 012 certified — required for MCS-compliant solar installations eligible for SEG export payments
  • No adhesive flashing rolls or fire-proofing materials required — all fire and weather performance achieved by the kit components alone
  • Expandable system — a VAL16 single-panel installation can later be expanded by converting to the standard F16-L multi-panel kit arrangement as additional panels are added

Landscape Array Sizing

Single-panel landscape array overall dimensions: G1: Width = 1,716 + 230 mm = 1,946 mm · Height = 1,005 + 500 mm = 1,505 mm (to outer flashing edges) M10: Width = 1,752 + 230 mm = 1,982 mm · Height = 1,139 + 500 mm = 1,639 mm (to outer flashing edges) These are the minimum roof area dimensions required for a single-panel landscape Clearline Fusion installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat is the difference between VAL16 and F16-LL / F16-LR?
The VAL16 is an all-in-one kit that combines left and right edge flashings for a single standalone panel in landscape orientation. The F16-LL and F16-LR are separate left-edge and right-edge kits used when building a multi-panel landscape array (two or more columns wide). For a single panel, always use VAL16. For 2+ columns, use F16-LL + F16-LR (plus F16-LC for centre columns, F16-LY for additional rows, and F16-LJ for joining positions above the bottom row).

QCan I use VAL16 to add a second panel later?
Not directly. If you later want to add panels to a VAL16 installation, the kit arrangement must be converted to the standard F16-L multi-panel system using F16-LL and F16-LR kits (and others as required). Plan your final array size before installation if possible, as retrofitting additional panels requires removing and replacing the VAL16 kit components. Contact Viridian's technical team (01480 839 865) for advice.

QCan I mix G1 and M10 kits?
No. G1 and M10 kits have different flashing dimensions to match their respective module sizes. An installation must use either all-G1 or all-M10 components throughout — mixing is not possible.

QDoes the kit include the solar panel?
No. The VAL16 is a flashing and bracket kit only — it provides all the weatherproofing and structural components to install one PV16 module in-roof, but the panel itself (VIR-PV16-335-G1 or VIR-PV16-405-M10) must be purchased separately.

QIs this suitable for a sarking board roof?
Yes, but you will need to add the corresponding sarking bracket kits. For a VAL16 installation on a sarking board roof, add SB16-L and SB16-R sarking bracket kits (one of each) to your order. These provide the necessary rafter-fixing interface for sarking board construction.

QWhat pitch range is supported?
The Clearline Fusion system including the VAL16 is certified for roof pitches between 20° and 60° — covering the vast majority of UK domestic roof pitches. Contact Viridian if your roof pitch falls outside this range.

QIs a VAL16 installation MCS-eligible?
Yes. The Clearline Fusion system holds MCS 005 and MCS 012 certification and BBA Certificate 0032, which are required for installations to qualify as MCS-compliant. MCS compliance is a prerequisite for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) export tariff. Ensure your installer is MCS-registered.
