Sunsynk 5.32kWh IP65 LiFePO4 Battery Complete with Isolator and Cables — SUN-BATT-5.32 — Wall Mounted Solar Storage

The Sunsynk 5.32kWh IP65 Battery (SUN-BATT-5.32) is a wall-mounted lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) solar storage battery designed for residential and light commercial use alongside Sunsynk hybrid inverters. It stores 5.32 kWh gross (approximately 4.26 kWh usable at 80% depth of discharge), operates at a nominal 51.2 V, and communicates with the inverter via CAN/RS485. The IP65-rated metal enclosure makes it suitable for both indoor and sheltered outdoor installation. Supplied complete with a 125A MCB isolator and all required power and communication cables — the full hardware set needed to connect the battery to the inverter. Up to 8 units can be paralleled on a single system, giving a maximum of 42.56 kWh gross storage capacity.

⚡ UK Charge/Discharge Rate — Important
Sunsynk UK-supplied models are rated at 0.5C. This means the maximum charge and discharge power is approximately 2.66 kW per battery unit (50A × 53.2V), not 5.32 kW. When specifying for a home with high simultaneous load or fast charging requirements, the inverter's power rating — not the battery's energy capacity alone — determines peak available power. Two batteries in parallel doubles available current and power to approximately 5.32 kW.
⚠ Professional Installation Required — Battery storage systems must be installed by a qualified electrician familiar with DC battery systems and DNO notification requirements. The battery weighs 46.5 kg — wall mounting requires a solid masonry or concrete structure capable of bearing this load. Use minimum 25mm² EV-grade cables (rated 600V, 125A) for power connections. Do not install in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

✔ Intelligent BMS — Full Cell Protection
The integrated BMS continuously monitors cell voltage, temperature, and current for every cell, providing automatic protection against overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, and high/low temperature conditions. Active cell balancing extends cycle life by preventing any single cell from becoming the system weak link. The BMS communicates with the Sunsynk inverter via CAN/RS485 for real-time state-of-charge reporting and system coordination.
✔ Sunsynk Connect App Monitoring
When paired with a Sunsynk hybrid inverter, the battery's state of charge, charge/discharge power, and cycle history are reported through the Sunsynk Connect platform and app — accessible from any smartphone. This allows homeowners to monitor battery performance, set charge schedules, configure grid export limits, and track self-consumption in real time without any additional hardware.
✔ Floor or Wall Mounting Flexibility
The SUN-BATT-5.32 supports both wall mounting via included bracket and floor standing, giving installers flexibility in plant rooms, garages, and utility areas. Wall mounting requires a solid masonry or concrete surface rated for the 46.5 kg load. The wall bracket is included in the box; a standard 10mm masonry drill bit is required for installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much usable energy does this battery actually store?
The gross capacity is 5.32 kWh, but the battery is configured to operate at a maximum 80% depth of discharge, leaving a 20% reserve to protect cycle life. This gives approximately 4.26 kWh of usable energy per unit. As a practical guide, 4.26 kWh would power a typical UK home's evening demand for 3–5 hours, or cover overnight baseload (fridge, standby loads, lighting) for 8–10 hours depending on your household consumption. A second battery in parallel doubles this to 8.52 kWh usable.
Why is the UK charge/discharge rate 0.5C when some listings say 1C?
Sunsynk's own product page states that UK-supplied models are 0.5C rated — this is a market-specific configuration, not a fault. At 0.5C, the maximum charge or discharge power is approximately 2.66 kW per battery unit (50A × 53.2V). Some international listings and older data sheets state 1C (5.32 kW), but this does not apply to batteries supplied for the UK market. This limit means that to achieve, for example, 5 kW of battery discharge power, you would need two batteries in parallel. This is an important consideration when sizing a system against peak household load.
Can this battery be used with inverters other than Sunsynk?
The SUN-BATT-5.32 communicates via CAN/RS485 using the Sunsynk protocol. Sunsynk states it is compatible with major PCS brands, and some third-party inverters can communicate with it via RS485 using a compatible BMS protocol — Solis and some other brands have been reported as working. However, full functionality, accurate SoC reporting, and warranty support are only guaranteed with Sunsynk hybrid inverters. If you have a non-Sunsynk inverter, confirm compatibility with your inverter manufacturer or installer before purchasing.
What cable size should be used for battery connections?
Sunsynk specifies a minimum of 25mm² EV-rated cable (600V, 125A rated) of at least 1,500mm length for power connections between parallel batteries. For the connection between the battery or battery bank and the inverter (P+ and P-), when multiple batteries are in parallel, a minimum 50mm² cable rated for 210A is required to handle the combined current. All parallel cable runs should be the same length to ensure equal current sharing between batteries. The cables included in this listing cover the standard single-battery-to-inverter connection; a qualified installer will confirm correct sizing for multi-battery configurations.

The cables included in this listing cover the standard single-battery-to-inverter connection; a qualified installer will confirm correct sizing for multi-battery configurations.
