Intelligent Aerosol Fire Suppression — 5-Second Response (Optional)
The DL5.0C Pro is the only Dyness DL5.0 series battery that can be equipped with an integrated aerosol fire suppression system. Thermal sensors monitor the battery continuously for abnormal temperature rise. If a thermal event is detected, the system automatically activates a pressurised aerosol agent that extinguishes the fire within 5 seconds without human intervention. This is a meaningful safety upgrade for installations in garages, plant rooms, or any location where a fire in the battery cabinet could spread to adjacent structures. The aerosol agent is non-toxic and does not damage electrical equipment.

Automatic Self-Heating — Charging to −20°C
LiFePO₄ cells cannot be safely charged below 0°C without risking lithium plating. The DL5.0C Pro’s optional automatic self-heating module activates below 0°C and warms the cells to a safe charging temperature before allowing charge current to flow. This extends the usable temperature range to −20°C for both charging and discharging. For installations in unheated garages, outbuildings, or cold-climate regions, this feature prevents the BMS from refusing to charge on cold winter mornings when solar generation is beginning — a common frustration with batteries without heating.

95 % Depth of Discharge — 4.86 kWh Usable from 5.12 kWh
The DL5.0C Pro’s BMS allows the cells to be discharged to 95 % of nominal capacity — giving 4.86 kWh of usable energy per module. The standard DL5.0C limits discharge to 90 % (4.61 kWh). This 5 % uplift is a direct result of the Pro’s more refined BMS with tighter cell-level voltage monitoring, which enables safer operation closer to the cell’s lower voltage limit without risking over-discharge damage. Across 50 units in a maximum parallel configuration, the Pro delivers 243 kWh usable vs 230 kWh for the standard model.

100 A Continuous / 120 A Peak Discharge — 1C Continuous
The DL5.0C Pro discharges at its full 1C rate of 100 A continuously, delivering 5.12 kW of sustained DC output at 51.2 V. This is sufficient to run a 4 kW inverter at full load with headroom. The 120 A peak for 10 minutes (1.2C) handles inverter start surges, immersion heater switching, and motor inrush without triggering BMS protection or voltage sag. The peak rating is higher than the standard DL5.0C’s 110 A / 15 s.

≥6,000 Cycles at 95 % DoD — LiFePO₄ Chemistry
Tested at 0.2C charge/discharge at 25°C with 95 % depth of discharge, the DL5.0C Pro maintains capacity for over 6,000 complete cycles. At one full cycle per day, this equates to approximately 16 – 17 years of service. LiFePO₄ (LFP) chemistry provides inherent thermal stability: LFP cells do not undergo thermal runaway at the same rate as NMC or NCA chemistries when overcharged or punctured, and they do not release oxygen during thermal events, significantly reducing fire risk compared to other lithium-ion chemistries.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the DL5.0C Pro differ from the standard DL5.0C?
The Pro adds three features not available on the standard DL5.0C: built-in WiFi (the standard requires an optional monitoring dongle); optional aerosol fire suppression (not available on the standard); and 95 % DoD (the standard is limited to 90 %). The Pro is also lighter (46 kg vs 54 kg) and more compact in its footprint. The self-heating function is optional on both models. If your installation does not require fire suppression, WiFi monitoring, or the additional usable capacity from 95 % DoD, the standard DL5.0C may offer better value per kWh.
What does IP20 mean for installation location?
IP20 means the battery is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm (e.g. fingers) but has no water or dust protection. It is rated for indoor dry environments only. Suitable locations include: utility rooms, dedicated battery rooms, heated garages, and indoor plant rooms. Do not install in an outdoor enclosure, damp garage, or anywhere subject to condensation, flooding or water spray. The ambient temperature must remain within the operating range throughout the year.
How do I connect multiple DL5.0C Pro units in parallel?
Connect units in parallel using the supplied daisy-chain RJ45 parallel communication cable. One unit is designated the master using the DIP switch on the front panel; all others are configured as slaves. The master communicates with the inverter; each slave reports its data to the master. Power cables are connected in parallel directly (positive to positive, negative to negative) via a busbar or junction. All units should be at a similar state of charge before parallel connection. Refer to the Dyness DL5.0C Pro user manual for the exact DIP switch configuration for your parallel count.
Which inverters are compatible and what settings are required?
The DL5.0C Pro has verified compatibility with SMA, Schneider, Victron, Ingeteam, Solis, GoodWe, Growatt, Luxpower, Soplanet, DEYE and SAJ inverters. Compatibility requires both correct physical wiring (CAN or RS485 port, RJ45 cable) and the correct parameter settings in the inverter (battery type, charge voltage, discharge voltage, current limits). Dyness publishes an inverter compatibility document listing the exact settings for each brand. Always consult this document before commissioning — incorrect settings are the most common cause of communication errors.
Does the fire suppression system damage the battery or inverter when it activates?
The aerosol fire suppression agent used in the DL5.0C Pro is a solid aerosol compound (condensed aerosol technology), similar to that used in vehicle engine bays and electrical cabinets. When activated, it disperses a fine aerosol agent that suppresses the fire by interrupting the combustion chain reaction. The agent is non-toxic, non-corrosive to metals, and leaves minimal residue on electronic components. The battery and nearby inverter are not typically damaged by the agent itself, although the underlying thermal event that triggered activation may have already caused damage. After any fire suppression activation, the battery must be inspected by a qualified Dyness service engineer before any attempt to restart the system.
What happens if the battery is too cold to charge?
Below 0°C, the standard BMS will prevent charging to protect the LFP cells from lithium plating (a permanent form of capacity damage). With the optional self-heating module, the battery automatically activates a heating element when the cell temperature drops below the safe charging threshold. The cells are warmed to 0°C before charging begins. This happens automatically without user intervention. If your installation is in an unheated space that regularly drops below 0°C in winter, the self-heating module is strongly recommended to avoid losing solar charging hours on cold winter mornings.

Key Features
Built-in WiFi — No Dongle Required
The DL5.0C Pro includes integrated WiFi connectivity, making it the first Dyness DL5.0 series unit that does not require a separate monitoring dongle. Once connected to your home network, the battery is visible in the Dyness app on iOS and Android, showing: real-time state of charge (SoC), charge/discharge power, cell-level voltages and temperatures, alarm status, and historical energy data. Firmware updates can be pushed over-the-air (OTA) by Dyness, ensuring the BMS software stays current without requiring a service visit. Remote control functions allow charge and discharge limits to be adjusted from the app without physical access to the unit.

50-Unit Parallel Expansion — 5.12 kWh to 256 kWh
Up to 50 DL5.0C Pro units can be connected in parallel, scaling the system to a maximum of 256 kWh. Each unit connects to the next via the supplied daisy-chain RJ45 communication cable, and the master/slave relationship is set via the front-panel DIP switch. The master battery manages the bank’s communication with the inverter; each slave reports its own cell data to the master. When adding units to an existing bank, ensure all units are at similar SoC before parallel connection.
