Heatmiser neoFlo Smart Thermostatic Radiator Valve Head – Wireless Smart TRV for neo System

The IMI Heatmiser neoFlo is a smart wireless thermostatic radiator valve head that brings per-room temperature control and app management to individual radiators — using a unique hybrid motor/TRV approach that delivers both digital precision and whisper-quiet operation. A brief electric motor adjustment sets the valve position; a traditional TRV mechanism then holds it steady, eliminating the continuous clicking and buzzing that plagues many all-electric smart TRVs. The result is comfortable, stable room temperatures with significantly less noise and up to 6 years of battery life from just four AA batteries.

The neoFlo works standalone without a hub from first installation — providing manual control, basic scheduling, boost, frost protection, and open window detection without any network connection. Pairing it with the neoHub 3rd Generation unlocks the full neoApp ecosystem: remote control, advanced scheduling, auto-balancing, pre-heat, temperature offset, holiday mode, and OTA firmware updates. It also enables integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. For radiator-only or hybrid underfloor/radiator systems, the IMI Heatmiser RF Switch allows the neoFlo to call for heat from the boiler room by room.

Key Features

Hybrid technology — quiet, precise, long-lasting

Most smart TRVs use a continuously running electric motor to hold the valve position — which creates noise and drains batteries quickly. The neoFlo's hybrid approach uses the motor only to reposition the valve, then hands over to the TRV's passive wax mechanism to hold it steady. This dramatically reduces motor run time, cutting noise to occasional brief adjustments and extending battery life to 5–6 years from 4× AA cells.

Works standalone from day one

The neoFlo doesn't require a hub to be useful. After fitting and calibrating the valve, it immediately provides manual temperature control, up to four daily heating periods, boost mode, open window detection, and frost protection — all operated via the physical button and wheel on the unit. A hub is needed only for app control and advanced features.

Full neoApp ecosystem when paired with neoHub G3

Adding the neoHub 3rd Generation unlocks the complete feature set: remote access via the neoApp, advanced schedules (5/2 and custom), pre-heat, holiday mode, temperature hold, open window sensitivity settings, temperature offset correction, and automatic OTA firmware updates. All neoFlo settings sync instantly between the device and the app.

Room-by-room boiler control via RF Switch

When combined with the neoHub G3 and the IMI Heatmiser RF Switch, the neoFlo can call for heat from the boiler independently for each radiator zone — rather than relying on a central thermostat to run the boiler. This means the boiler only fires when a room actually needs heat, eliminating the wasted energy of heating rooms that are already at temperature.

UFH + radiator hybrid in one app

For homes with both underfloor heating and radiators, the neoHub G3 allows both systems to be managed from a single neoApp interface. neoFlo radiator heads integrate directly into an existing neo UFH control setup — the same schedules, zones, and app screens, across every type of emitter in the home.

Adaptive thermal balancing + Heimeier Eclipse

The neoFlo includes an automatic thermal balancing function — it monitors flow and adjusts valve position to distribute heat evenly across all radiators without manual lockshield adjustment. For professionally balanced larger systems, it is designed to work alongside the IMI Heimeier Eclipse dynamic balancing radiator valve bodies, which provide static (V-exact II) and dynamic (Eclipse TRV) balancing solutions.

Standalone Modes (No Hub Required)

Mode How it works
Manual mode Press button to activate display, turn wheel to set temperature. Holds until changed or overridden.
Simple scheduling Up to 4 daily heating periods with different setpoints, set directly on the unit.
Boost mode Fully opens the valve for 30 minutes for rapid room warm-up. Countdown shown on display. Cancellable.
Open window detection If temperature drops >2°C in 2 minutes, valve closes for 30 minutes to prevent heating a ventilated room.
Frost protection Automatically opens valve if room temperature drops below 5°C. Frost protection icon shown on display.
Valve protection Automatic monthly valve exercise cycle prevents limescale seizure during inactive periods.
Low battery indicator Icon appears on display when battery replacement is needed.

Enhanced Modes (neoHub G3 + neoApp Required)

Mode / Feature Detail
Auto / smart scheduling 5/2 mode (weekday/weekend) or fully custom per-day programme via neoApp. Default: Mon–Fri 7:00/9:00/16:00/22:00 with 21°C/16°C profiles.
Holiday mode Set return date via app — all devices switch to frost protection until specified date. 1-hour temporary heating override available on device.
Pre-heat Starts heating before scheduled time to ensure room reaches target temperature exactly on schedule.
Temperature hold Hold a specific temperature for a chosen duration outside the normal schedule. Reverts automatically.
Temperature offset ±5K offset to correct for difference between valve sensor and actual room temperature. Default 0°C.
Open window sensitivity Adjustable sensitivity (Low / Medium / High) and closure duration via neoApp.
Adaptive thermal balancing Automatically adjusts valve flow to achieve even heat distribution across all radiators.
OTA firmware updates Automatic background updates when connected to neoHub G3. No user action needed.

System Architecture — What Do You Need?

Standalone only — no extras needed

neoFlo head only. Provides manual control, basic scheduling, boost, frost protection, and open window detection without any hub or network. Suitable for immediate upgrade of existing dumb TRV heads.

App-connected — neoFlo + neoHub G3

Adds the neoHub 3rd Generation. Unlocks full remote control via neoApp, advanced schedules, pre-heat, holiday mode, temperature offset, Alexa/Google/HomeKit integration, and OTA updates. No boiler control from the TRVs — existing room thermostat still controls the boiler.

Full smart system — neoFlo + neoHub G3 + RF Switch

Adds the IMI Heatmiser RF Switch to the neoHub setup. Each neoFlo can now call for heat from the boiler independently — creating true room-by-room zoning without zone valves. Ideal for UFH/radiator hybrid homes or where a central thermostat is no longer desired. Installer setup required for RF Switch.

Valve body compatibility: The neoFlo is designed for use with standard M30×1.5mm threaded TRV valve bodies — the European standard used by the vast majority of modern UK radiator valves. For optimised hydronic balancing on larger or more complex systems, Heatmiser recommend pairing with the IMI Heimeier Eclipse dynamic TRV valve body or Heimeier V-exact II static preset valves (sold separately). Confirm your existing valve body thread before ordering — if you have Danfoss RA-type valve bodies (clip-fit, not threaded), an adapter may be required.
