Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Galvani battery work with any hybrid inverter?
No — the Galvani Stackable battery is exclusively compatible with Eleven Energy Hybrid Inverters. It cannot be connected to inverters from other manufacturers (GivEnergy, Fox ESS, SolarEdge, SolaX, Growatt, Sungrow etc.). This is a hardware and firmware requirement, not a configuration option. Ensure the complete Eleven Energy inverter and battery system is specified together.
How many batteries can I connect, and what do I need per stack?
A maximum of 4 Galvani modules per stack — giving 18 kWh per stack. Each stack requires one Base and Junction Box (sold separately). Parallel connection of multiple stacks is planned for a future release via a dedicated parallel cable accessory — this is not currently available. The datasheet references up to 16 modules in future configurations for up to 66.24 kWh.
Why choose sodium-ion over lithium-ion (LFP) for home storage?
Sodium-ion offers three practical advantages in UK residential installations. First, cold temperature performance: the Galvani charges at −20°C and discharges at −30°C, unlike LFP which degrades rapidly below 0°C — making it genuinely usable in unheated garages and outbuildings year-round. Second, improved fire safety: sodium-ion chemistry is inherently more thermally stable than lithium-ion, with a lower risk of thermal runaway. Third, sustainability: sodium is abundant and non-toxic — no cobalt, no scarce lithium, no contested mining.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes — IP65 protection combined with the wide operating temperature range makes the Galvani suitable for permanent outdoor installation on an exterior wall, in a garden cabinet or under a covered area, without a separate weatherproof enclosure. The installation manual requires the mounting wall to be fire-resistant with a minimum thickness of 100mm. Avoid installation near water or fire sources.
What is included in the battery module box?
Each battery module box contains: the battery pack (640×350×250mm), 2× battery interlink brackets and 4× M5 hex screws for stacking. The Junction Box and Base must be ordered separately — one set is required per stack. The Junction Box box includes the pre-installed 35mm² inverter-battery power cable set, data cable, waterproof glands, grounding cable, wall mount brackets, adjustable feet and fixings.
