Each 25 mm² cable is rated for 100 A continuous (120 A peak, 105°C insulation). If your system’s total charge/discharge current exceeds 100 A, use two cable packs in parallel — connecting both positive cables and both negative cables at a busbar before the final run to the inverter terminals.

Key Features
25 mm² Solar-Grade Power Cables — 100 A Continuous Rating
The two power cables use 25 mm² high-strand-count conductors with 105°C-rated insulation — well above standard cable insulation ratings. This higher insulation temperature allows the cables to carry 100 A continuously and up to 120 A peak without thermal degradation, which matches the maximum charge/discharge rating of the US5000 and UP5000 modules. The solar-grade construction also gives flexibility and UV resistance for both indoor and outdoor cable runs.

Amphenol → M8 Ring Lug — Factory-Specified Terminations
The battery end uses Amphenol quick-lock connectors — the same proprietary locking interface built into all Pylontech US and UP battery modules. These connectors provide a secure, vibration-resistant, low-resistance connection that cannot be reversed (polarity-keyed). The inverter end terminates in standard M8 ring lugs that fit the DC bus bar or inverter battery terminals found on virtually all hybrid and off-grid inverters.

Two Communication Cables — Standard and Blue (Solis)
The UK pack includes two RJ45 communication cables with different pin-outs: a standard cable for most RS485-compatible inverters (GivEnergy, Growatt, Sungrow, SolarEdge, Fronius and others), and a blue-labelled cable specifically for Solis inverters when using US-type C variant batteries. Having both in the pack means no additional comms cable purchase is needed for the vast majority of inverter brands. Always check your inverter’s BMS communication port pinout before connecting.

NOT for Battery-to-Battery Parallel Links — Interlinks Already Supplied
This is one of the most common installation errors. These 2m cables are for battery stack to DC disconnect or inverter only. The cables that connect one Pylontech module to the next in a stack (interlink / parallel cables) are supplied inside the box with each battery unit. Using these 2m end-run cables as interlinks will result in incorrect cable lengths and potential current imbalance between modules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need one cable pack or two for my system?
One cable pack handles systems up to 100 A total charge/discharge. In practice this means: up to 5 × US2000B/C, 3 × US3000/C, or 2 × US5000/UP5000 per pack. If your system exceeds these numbers, buy a second cable pack and run both sets in parallel — both positive cables and both negative cables — to a busbar, then run a single appropriately-sized cable from the busbar to the inverter terminals. Do not simply daisy-chain cables; parallel to busbar is the correct method for higher-current systems.
Why does the battery-to-battery (interlink) cable come with the battery?
Each Pylontech US and UP series battery module ships with a short parallel interconnect cable pre-sized for the specific module-to-module gap in a standard stack. These short interlinks ensure equal current distribution between modules. The CAB-PK-PYLON 2m cables are a completely separate function: they connect the top or bottom of the finished battery stack to the external system (DC disconnect switch, fuse, or inverter bus bar). The 2m length gives enough reach to accommodate most typical installation distances between the battery stack and the inverter.
Which communication cable do I use for my inverter?
For Solis inverters with US-type C variant batteries: use the blue-labelled communication cable. For all other RS485-compatible inverters (GivEnergy, Growatt, Sungrow, Fronius, SolarEdge, Huawei and others): use the standard (unlabelled) communication cable. For Victron Energy systems (Multiplus, Quattro, CerboGX, MPPT controllers): neither included cable is correct — you need a separate Victron VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS cable, Type A or Type B (1.8m), depending on your exact Pylontech model. Always verify against your inverter’s installation manual.
Are the cables suitable for outdoor installation?
Yes. The 25 mm² conductors use solar-grade insulation rated to 105°C, which is designed for both indoor and outdoor environments. If running cables outside between a battery enclosure and an inverter, it is good practice to run them through conduit to protect against mechanical damage and UV degradation, even though the cable insulation itself is UV-resistant.
Why are these 25 mm² cables if my inverter manual says 70 mm²?
This is a common question from installers. Standard 25 mm² PVC-insulated cables would struggle at 100 A, but these Pylontech cables use 105°C-rated insulation which substantially increases the current-carrying capacity compared to standard 70°C cable. The 2-metre length also means resistive losses are low. At 100 A or below on a 2m run these cables are correctly rated for the application. For systems drawing more than 100 A continuously, use two cable packs in parallel (effectively 2 × 25 mm² = 50 mm² per pole) or transition to heavier-gauge cabling after the busbar.

Official Factory Accessory — Designed for US and UP Series
The CAB-PK-PYLON is the official Pylontech cable accessory kit for the UK market, ensuring that conductor sizing, connector type, and pin-out are correct for the specific Amphenol interface on the US and UP series modules. Third-party cables with incorrect conductor sizing or non-Amphenol connectors can create connection resistance, heat build-up and BMS communication errors. Using the factory-specified cable pack also ensures warranty compliance with Pylontech’s terms.
