Wilo Yonos PICO-Z 25/0,5-6 130 Stainless Steel Domestic Hot Water Circulator Pump
The Wilo Yonos PICO-Z 25/0,5-6 130 is a high-efficiency stainless-steel circulator pump (article number 4255416) purpose-built for domestic hot water (DHW) secondary return loops in detached, semi-detached and small multi-family homes. Its stainless-steel pump body is rated for potable water and an integrated thermal insulation jacket minimises heat loss from the pump itself.
Built around the same ECM synchronous motor platform as the heating Yonos PICO range — drawing as little as 4 W — but optimised for the lower flows and continuous duty of DHW recirculation. Setpoint is adjusted via the Green Button in 0.1 m increments; control modes include Δp-c (constant differential pressure), n-cst (continuous constant speed) and three fixed-speed curves. The Wilo-Connector plug enables tool-free electrical commissioning, and the LED display shows live watts, m³/h flow and any error codes.
Pump housing in stainless steel — corrosion-resistant, hygienic and approved for potable water contact, unlike cast-iron heating circulators which must never be used on a DHW return.
Materials and design are certified for drinking-water contact — ensuring water supplied through the loop remains clean and safe.
The supplied insulation jacket wraps the pump body to reduce standing heat loss from the circulator itself — important on continuously running DHW return loops.
Same energy-saving ECM platform as the heating Yonos PICO — minimum power consumption from just 4 W, compared with 30–60 W for the older fixed-speed bronze pumps it replaces.
The Wilo-Connector enables fast, tool-free electrical connection — particularly valuable in tight airing cupboards where there's limited room to wire a conventional terminal box.
Single-knob Green Button setpoint control plus an LED display showing live watts and m³/h flow — ideal for verifying the loop is actually circulating after commissioning.

Why a special pump for DHW — can I just use a heating circulator?
No. Heating circulators have cast-iron pump bodies that must never circulate fresh oxygenated drinking water — they will corrode and contaminate the supply. The PICO-Z uses a stainless-steel housing certified for potable water, which is the right choice for a DHW secondary return loop.
What is the n-cst control mode for?
n-cst (continuous constant speed) is included specifically to make replacing legacy fixed-speed pumps like the Wilo Star-Z straightforward — set the equivalent curve and the PICO-Z behaves like the old pump but draws a fraction of the power. Δp-c and the three fixed-speed steps are also available for newer or larger DHW loops.
Will it replace my existing bronze DHW pump?
Yes — the 130 mm port-to-port length and 1½" BSP unions match the standard footprint shared by the Wilo Star-Z, Grundfos UP-N, Comfort series and most other domestic DHW circulators. Existing union nuts usually transfer over.
Does it need a non-return valve?
Yes — every DHW secondary return circuit should include a non-return valve on the return leg to prevent reverse flow when the pump is off, plus isolation valves either side of the pump for service. These are not supplied with the pump — fit them to the manufacturer's installation diagram.
