Sigenergy Sigen Power Sensor | Single Phase Direct Connection 100A | DIN Rail | RS485 | Solar Import/Export Monitoring
Single Phase Direct Connection ±1% Accuracy Part No: SIG-SENSOR-SP-DH
The Sigenergy Power Sensor SP-DH is a single-phase, direct-connection energy metering device for the SigenStor ecosystem. Unlike the CT variants, the main live cable passes directly through the sensor body — there is no separate current transformer to install or manage. This makes it the cleanest, simplest single-phase metering solution for new installations where the incoming supply cable can be routed through the unit during first fix. It supports up to 100A, covers the full range of standard UK residential single-phase supplies, and connects to the Energy Controller via RS485 Modbus RTU — enabling real-time grid monitoring and all SigenStor intelligent energy management functions.
What the Power Sensor Enables
Installed at the grid connection point, the Power Sensor feeds live import/export readings to the Energy Controller every 100ms, enabling the full range of SigenStor intelligent energy management features:
- Dynamic load management — throttles inverter output in real time to prevent main fuse overload
- Solar surplus EV charging (Solar Boost, 100% PV, PV Storage & Charging modes) on the Sigen EV AC Charger
- Export limitation — caps grid export for DNO / G98 compliance
- Import limitation — prevents grid draw exceeding a set threshold
- Self-consumption optimisation — battery charges/discharges to minimise import
- AI tariff scheduling — real consumption data feeds the mySigen AI energy optimiser
- Accurate mySigen app energy flow display — grid, solar, battery and household load
- Anti-backflow protection when used with the Sigen Energy Gateway
⚠️ Required for key functions: Dynamic load management and all solar-priority EV charging modes on the Sigen EV AC Charger require a Power Sensor. Without it, the SigenStor system has no visibility of household consumption and cannot prevent overload or optimise EV charging against solar surplus.

FAQs
Should I choose this (SP-DH) or the CT variant (SP-CT-DH)?
The direct-connection SP-DH (this product) is the neater solution when you can route the main live cable through the sensor body — typically on new installations where the tails are accessible at first fix. The external CT variant SP-CT-DH is better for retrofits, larger cable cross-sections that won't fit through the sensor aperture, or any situation where live cable disconnection is impractical. Both variants deliver identical measurement performance and enable the same SigenStor functions.
My supply is 100A — is this sensor right at its limit?
The SP-DH is rated to exactly 100A maximum operating current. If your DNO cutout is 100A, the sensor will operate safely at the rated limit under full load. However, if your supply is 100A and you are concerned about headroom, or if there is any possibility of momentary current spikes above 100A, the SP-CT-DH with its 120A CT provides a more comfortable margin. For supplies rated above 100A, the CT variant is required.
Does the SP-DH come with any accessories?
No — the SP-DH is a self-contained direct-connection sensor with no external CT. The live conductor routes through the sensor body, which then mounts on the DIN rail. No CT, no additional cabling accessories are included. An RS485 cable to connect to the Energy Controller will be required (not supplied separately by Sigenergy — standard RS485/Modbus twisted-pair cable used by the installer).
