Sigenergy Sigen Energy Gateway HomePro SP-F 100A Single Phase Whole-Home Backup

100A Single Phase 0ms Switchover Whole-Home Backup MPN: 11110030

The Sigenergy Gateway HomePro SP-F is the backup switching and multi-source energy management hub for the SigenStor single-phase home energy system. It is the component that transforms a SigenStor installation from a solar-and-save system into a full whole-home power-cut protection system. At 100A nominal current, the HomePro SP-F supports up to 22kW of continuous load — meaning the entire home stays live on battery and solar during a grid outage, with no load-shedding or critical-loads-only compromise. Switchover is 0ms load-side disruption, so sensitive electronics, NAS drives, routers and alarm systems are unaffected. The F suffix denotes the rear cable entry design, enabling a cleaner, more concealed wall installation compared to earlier models.

What the Gateway Does — Energy Sources Managed

The HomePro SP-F acts as the central switching and management hub between all energy sources and your home. It handles six source types seamlessly:

☀️Solar PVRoutes surplus PV to battery or grid, and PV to loads during backup
🔋Battery (ESS)Manages discharge to loads and switches to battery-only during outages
GridMonitors grid voltage/frequency; isolates instantly on fault detection
🔌GeneratorIntegrates diesel/petrol generator via Smart Port with 2-wire auto-start
🚗V2X / EVManages Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid energy flows via the DC module
🏠Smart LoadsSmart Port controls EV chargers, heat pumps and other deferrable loads by SOC and time schedule

Key Features

⚡ 0ms Load-Side SwitchoverWhen the grid fails, the HomePro SP-F detects the outage and switches the home to battery/solar power with zero load-side disruption — before any connected device registers an interruption. This is achieved through Sigenergy's patented power control algorithm operating in coordination with the SigenStor Energy Controller and Battery. Sensitive electronics, smart home devices, and medical equipment remain online uninterrupted.
🏠 True Whole-Home 100A BackupUnlike gateway models limited to 54.6A (12kW), the HomePro SP-F operates at 100A / 22kW continuous — the full single-phase service capacity for most UK homes. There is no need to segregate critical from non-critical loads or rewire a separate backup sub-panel. Every socket and circuit in the home is protected during a power cut, up to the rating of the SigenStor battery and inverter combination.
🔁 Built-in Bypass CircuitAn integrated bypass circuit allows the home to remain connected directly to the grid even if the gateway itself requires service or maintenance. This means a gateway fault does not cut off the home from the grid — a key resilience and safety feature for professional installations. The bypass can be activated manually without powering down the system.
🔌 Generator Integration — Smart PortThe Smart Port (up to 55A / 12kW) supports connection of a diesel or petrol generator as an additional backup energy source. 2-wire auto-start is supported, enabling the mySigen app to automatically start and stop the generator based on battery state of charge, time of day, or load demand — no manual intervention required. Generator output is also managed to prevent backfeed onto the grid.
📡 350ms Anti-Backflow ProtectionReal-time current monitoring detects reverse power flow (backfeed towards the grid during backup operation) within 350ms and acts to prevent it — protecting the grid, the DNO infrastructure, and any engineers who may be working on the network during an outage. Fully compliant with G98/G100 anti-islanding and backfeed prevention requirements.
📱 Smart Load Control via mySigen AppThe Smart Port also controls connected smart loads — EV AC chargers, heat pumps, immersion heaters, or any other controllable device. Set loads to run only when battery SOC exceeds a threshold, during solar surplus hours, or during off-peak tariff windows. Remotely control generator start/stop. All managed from the mySigen app alongside the wider SigenStor system dashboard.
🔧 Rear Cable Entry (SP-F Design)The F suffix distinguishes this model from earlier HomePro SP variants by its rear wire entry design. Cables enter from behind the unit through the wall, keeping the front face and sides completely clear of visible conduit or trunking. Combined with the decorative cover (supplied), the installed unit presents a clean, modern appearance suitable for living areas and utility rooms alike.
🌡️ IP55 — Indoor & Sheltered OutdoorIP55 ingress protection makes the HomePro SP-F suitable for installation in garages, utility rooms, plant rooms, and sheltered external locations. Natural convection cooling requires no fan maintenance. Operating temperature range: -30°C to 55°C. Wall-mounted only.

⚠️ Required for backup power: The HomePro SP-F Gateway must be used together with a SigenStor Energy Controller and at least one SigenStor Battery module to achieve the 0ms load-side switchover. The gateway alone does not store or generate energy — it is the switching and management layer. The 0ms performance also requires that the Energy Controller's nominal power exceeds the total backup load at the time of switchover.

FAQs

Do I need this gateway if I already have a SigenStor EC and batteries?

Only if you want backup power during a grid outage. Without the Gateway, a SigenStor installation operates as a grid-tied solar + storage system — it will charge and discharge normally, save money on bills, and export surplus solar, but it will shut down automatically when the grid fails (as required by G98/G100 anti-islanding regulations). The Gateway is what enables the system to island safely, switch to battery/solar, and keep the home powered during a power cut. If backup protection is a requirement, the Gateway is essential.

What is the difference between the HomePro SP and the HomePro SP-F?

The HomePro SP-F is the upgraded, higher-current version. The most significant difference is the AC current rating: 100A on the SP-F vs 54.6A on the standard SP. This means the SP-F supports the full 22kW capacity of a standard UK 100A single-phase supply — the entire home stays on backup with no load restrictions. The SP-F also features rear cable entry (the F suffix), providing a cleaner installation aesthetic. Both models offer 0ms switchover, bypass circuits, generator Smart Port, and anti-backflow protection.

Can I connect a generator and how does auto-start work?

Yes. The Smart Port accepts a generator rated up to 12kW / 55A at 220–240V single phase. 2-wire auto-start is supported: connect the gateway's auto-start output to the generator's start terminals, then configure start/stop rules in the mySigen app — for example, start the generator if battery SOC drops below 15%, stop it when SOC reaches 80%. This keeps the home continuously powered during extended outages without manual intervention. The gateway also prevents the generator from backfeeding the grid.

How many SigenStor inverters can this gateway support?

The HomePro SP-F inverter connection supports up to 12kW from the SigenStor Energy Controllers — typically one or two single-phase EC units depending on their rating. For larger multi-inverter installations exceeding this, Sigenergy offers higher-capacity gateway models in the HomePro range. The 100A grid and backup port rating means the gateway itself is not the bottleneck — the limit is the inverter connection port rated at 55A / 12kW.

ℹ️ Required companion products: SigenStor Energy Controller (EC 3.6 SP, EC 6.0 SP, or larger) — must be installed for 0ms switchover · SigenStor Battery Module(s) (BAT 6.0, BAT 8.0, etc.) — provides the backup energy storage · Optional: Sigen CommMod — adds 4G connectivity for remote monitoring and app control without home Wi-Fi
