Salus RE600 Zigbee Smart Home Repeater 230V Hardwired Signal Booster

Salus RE600 Zigbee Smart Home Repeater 230V Hardwired Signal Booster

The Salus RE600 is a 230 V hardwired Zigbee signal repeater for the Salus Smart Home system. It extends the Zigbee 2.4 GHz mesh network beyond the direct range of the UG800 or UGE600 gateway — eliminating signal blackspots in larger homes, older properties with thick stone or brick walls, or multi-storey and multi-flat buildings where the gateway cannot reach all floors.

Unlike battery-powered repeaters that can lose charge and drop off the network unexpectedly, the RE600 runs on a permanent 230 V mains supply, providing continuous signal relay with no battery maintenance. It is supplied with its own SRS600 wall-mounting bracket for a surface-fixed finish, or can be installed inside a standard Ø60 mm flush back box for a completely concealed installation. At just 45 × 45 × 20 mm, it fits almost anywhere a mains cable is accessible. The RE600 is compatible with any Salus Smart Home / iT600 Zigbee system using a UG800 or UGE600 gateway, and carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Qualified installer required. The RE600 is a mains 230 V AC hardwired device — must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671. Always isolate the supply before making wiring connections. For indoor installation only; do not install in locations exposed to moisture or condensation.
Gateway required. The RE600 extends an existing Salus Smart Home Zigbee network — it does not work in isolation. A Salus UG800 or UGE600 Universal Gateway must already be installed and commissioned on the same network before adding repeaters. CO10RF offline coordinator is also supported for offline-mode installations.
Where to position it. Midway between the gateway and the area of poor coverage, avoiding metal enclosures and dense concrete walls. In multi-storey properties, one RE600 per floor is typically sufficient. Position it within line-of-sight of both the gateway and the devices needing better coverage.
Key Features
Eliminates Blackspots

Extends the Salus Zigbee mesh to rooms, floors or outbuildings where the gateway signal cannot reach directly — thick brick, stone, concrete floors, foil insulation and metal framing all attenuate 2.4 GHz signals, and a single RE600 between the gateway and the affected area usually resolves the problem.

Mains-Powered — No Battery Risk

Wired directly to 230 V mains, the RE600 operates continuously without interruption. Battery-powered repeaters can degrade or fail to pair after a flat battery — a hardwired repeater provides a persistent, always-on signal relay.

Surface or Flush Mount

Supplied with the SRS600 surface-mounting bracket (84 × 84 × 28 mm with bracket). Alternatively, remove the bracket and install the 45 × 45 × 20 mm module directly inside a standard Ø60 mm flush back box behind a blank plate.

Supports More Devices per Gateway

A stronger mesh means the UG800 gateway can reliably manage more devices at greater distance — reducing the need to add a second gateway in large installations with many thermostats and TRVs.

Suitable for Commercial Applications

Designed for schools, hotels, municipal buildings and multi-occupancy residential properties where a single gateway cannot cover the full building footprint. Multiple RE600 units can be daisy-chained across floors.

Simple Zigbee Pairing

Pairs to the Salus gateway automatically when powered up in range of the network — no buttons to press, no app configuration required. The gateway recognises the repeater and immediately uses it to relay signals to devices beyond its direct range.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need a repeater?

Common signs of poor Zigbee coverage: TRV heads or thermostats drop off the app, schedules stop updating, commands have a long delay or fail intermittently. Identify which devices are affected, then position an RE600 approximately midway between the gateway and those devices. In a two-storey house with a ground-floor gateway, fitting an RE600 on the first floor typically resolves all upstairs connectivity issues.

How many RE600 repeaters can I add to one gateway?

The Salus documentation does not specify a hard limit — in practice, the number is limited by the 200-device capacity of the UG800. Larger commercial installations (schools, hotels) commonly use multiple RE600 units, one per zone or floor, and Salus positions the RE600 as suitable for these applications. For most domestic properties, one or two RE600 units are sufficient.

Can I install it in a junction box?

Yes — the module without its bracket is 45 × 45 × 20 mm and fits inside a standard Ø60 mm circular back box or a 35 mm square back box, finished with a standard blank plate. This gives a completely flush, concealed installation with only the mains cable required behind the wall.

Will it work with my old Salus UGE600?

Yes — the RE600 is compatible with both the UG800 and the older UGE600 gateway, as well as the CO10RF offline coordinator. It automatically joins any Salus Smart Home / iT600 Zigbee network that is already active.
