The Harlequin HeatStream 210 Indirect — sold as the HeatStream 210 Electric PLUS (model HS210EPLUS) — is the flagship of the HeatStream range: a 210-litre open-vented thermal store that accepts heat from both electric immersion heaters and a separate primary heat source such as a gas or oil boiler, heat pump, or district heating network. With a 14-bar rated primary coil capable of pre-heating the full store in 24 minutes, and a standing heat loss of only 1.24 kWh/day, the HS210EPLUS is the ideal high-capacity solution for larger homes and apartments making the transition to hybrid or all-electric heating. As with all HeatStream models, it is open-vented and exempt from Part G of the Building Regulations, requiring no G3-qualified engineer and no mandatory annual safety inspection.
The open-vented thermal store design places the HS210EPLUS outside the scope of Part G, meaning no G3-qualified engineer, no expansion vessel and no T&P relief valve. Any competent heating technician can install and commission it.
The factory-fitted primary coil heats the full 210-litre store in just 24 minutes at 15 l/min primary flow (15–60°C). This dramatically outperforms immersion-only heat-up times, ensuring rapid hot water recovery after heavy use.
Rated to 14 bar operating pressure, the primary coil is suitable for high-pressure district heating networks as well as conventional gas, oil and LPG boilers. Primary coil pressure drop at 15 l/min is 134 mbar — well within standard pump capabilities.
The 3 kW + 3 kW immersion heater operates independently of the primary coil. The short boost element delivers 50 litres within 20 minutes when the boiler circuit is unavailable. Both elements can run simultaneously with the primary coil for maximum recovery speed.
Charge the 210-litre store with cheap overnight electricity or solar PV surplus via the immersion elements, then top up via the boiler when primary heat is cheapest. The combination of sources maximises energy cost savings throughout the year.
At 520 × 520 × 1,650 mm and 48 kg empty (250 kg filled), the HS210EPLUS carries a larger water mass but an identical floor footprint to the 150-litre PLUS model. It passes through a standard doorway and fits into most plant rooms or airing cupboards.
Polyethylene outer shell, polypropylene inner tank and stainless steel corrugated coils deliver a corrosion-resistant system suited to all UK water quality conditions, including hard-water and chloride-rich supplies, for long-term reliability.
All DHW and primary circuit connections are on top. Primary circuit uses 22 mm compression connections. Maintenance requires only a 6-monthly water level top-up; a central heating filter on the primary circuit is recommended to protect coil components long-term.
