Telford Hurricane Indirect Unvented Hot Water Cylinder – 90 / 125 / 150 / 170 / 200 / 250 / 300 Litre
The Telford Hurricane Indirect is a high-performance unvented hot water cylinder designed for use with a gas, oil-fired, or heat-pump boiler as the primary heat source. Manufactured in Britain from Duplex stainless steel with 316L grade fittings and internal coil, every Hurricane Indirect is supplied with a factory-fitted single 3 kW backup immersion heater, a complete unvented component kit, and an external expansion vessel. Available from 90 to 300 litres, the range carries a lifetime manufacturing warranty on the inner container and is WRAS approved.
Unvented hot water cylinders must be installed and commissioned by a G3 accredited competent person in accordance with Building Regulations Approved Document G3. All electrical connections must be completed by a qualified electrician to current IET Wiring Regulations. The Benchmark commissioning checklist must be completed and left with the householder.
Hurricane Indirect cylinders are heated primarily by a gas, oil, or heat-pump boiler via the internal 22 mm coil. A single 3 kW backup immersion heater is factory-fitted for off-peak or emergency use. Compatible with both sealed system and open-vented primary circuits. If you need electric-only heating, see the Hurricane Direct range.
The 22 mm secondary return connection is not supplied as standard on 90–170 L models. It is included as standard on 200–300 L models. If a secondary return circuit is required on a smaller model, please contact us for options.
The Hurricane Indirect is fabricated from Duplex stainless steel with all 22 mm fittings and the internal primary heating coil in 316L grade stainless steel — providing excellent corrosion resistance against aggressive water conditions. The inner container is backed by Telford's lifetime manufacturing warranty.
The 22 mm primary heating coil transfers heat from your boiler circuit to the stored water, achieving full cylinder heat-up from 10 °C to 60 °C in 26–40 minutes depending on size — and 70% draw-off recovery in 18–29 minutes. The coil is compatible with both sealed-system and open-vented boiler configurations.
A single 3 kW immersion heater is factory-fitted as standard on all models, providing electric backup during boiler servicing or off-peak top-up charging. It is equipped with an independent thermostat and a manual-reset thermal cut-out for safety compliance.
Every Hurricane Indirect includes an external expansion vessel with factory-fitted wall mounting bracket — sized to the cylinder capacity. This accommodates DHW thermal expansion without the need for internal expansion systems, supporting flexible siting within the primary circuit design.
Supplied complete with: tundish · inlet control group · two-port valve · dual-probe thermostat · factory-fitted 7 bar / 90 °C T&P relief valve · expansion vessel with bracket. All components meet relevant BS EN standards. WRAS approved across the range, and G3 Building Regulations compliant.
The Hurricane Indirect operates at 3 bar and accepts incoming supply pressures up to 12 bar, delivering powerful mains-pressure hot water to multiple outlets simultaneously — no loft tanks or shower pumps required. The primary coil circuit is suitable for both sealed system and open-vented boiler configurations.
