⚠ Installer & Regulatory Requirements
Megaflo Eco SystemReady cylinders must be installed and commissioned by a G3 competent person (or equivalent under Scottish / Northern Irish Building Regulations). All electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician to current IET Wiring Regulations. All installations must be notified to Local Area Building Control. The Benchmark commissioning checklist must be completed and left with the householder.
ℹ Designed for system boilers — not heat-only or combi boilers
The Megaflo Eco SystemReady is specifically engineered for use with a system boiler, which has its own integral pump, expansion vessel, and controls. It is not designed for heat-only (regular) boilers — if you are using a heat-only boiler, please see the Megaflo Eco SystemFit range. A tapping for a second heating zone is included as standard for multi-zone system installations.
ℹ Primary circuit expansion
The Megaflo Eco SystemReady has no internal DHW expansion vessel — domestic hot water expansion is handled by the integral floating-baffle system. However, the primary heating circuit expansion vessel supplied with the unit must be correctly installed in the primary circuit. The safety valves fitted protect the water heater only and do not protect the primary system.
KEY FEATURES
Factory Pre-Plumbed & Pre-Wired

The SystemReady's defining feature is its factory-assembled control pack — the cylinder thermostat, thermal cut-out, 22 mm 2-port motorised valve, and wiring centre are already mounted and wired to the cylinder body before delivery. This eliminates on-site assembly of the indirect control components, reducing installation time and eliminating wiring errors.

Compatible with Most System Boilers

The SystemReady is designed to work with the majority of modern system boilers — the boiler's integral pump, expansion vessel, and controls manage the primary heating circuit, while the SystemReady cylinder handles DHW storage and delivery. A tapping for a second heating zone (e.g. underfloor heating or a separate radiator zone) is included as standard.

High-Performance Coil-in-Coil Exchanger

The SystemReady uses the same high-performance coil-in-coil heat exchanger as the standard Megaflo Eco Indirect, achieving recovery of 70% draw-off in 16–27 minutes (at 15 l/min, 80 °C primary flow). Coil ratings of 19.4–20.5 kW at 15 l/min ensure rapid cylinder reheat and excellent simultaneous hot-water performance.

Internal Expansion — No DHW Expansion Vessel

The internal floating-baffle air-gap system accommodates domestic hot water thermal expansion within the cylinder, eliminating the need for an external DHW expansion vessel and keeping the installation footprint compact. The unit's floor depth of 710 mm should be planned for — slightly larger than the standard Eco Indirect due to the pre-fitted control assembly.

Duplex Stainless Steel — Lifetime Tank Guarantee

Every SystemReady cylinder is fabricated from high-grade duplex stainless steel, 100% pressure-tested to 15 bar. This alloy's superior strength and corrosion resistance underpins Heatrae Sadia's lifetime guarantee on the inner tank for domestic first-owner installations. Performance and insulation levels exceed Building Regulations Part L requirements.

60 mm Insulation & Mains-Pressure Delivery

60 mm of CFC/HCFC-free polyurethane foam (GWP = 3.1) with an insulated T&P valve gives excellent standing heat-loss performance. Fed directly from the cold-water mains, all models deliver up to 76 litres per minute at 3 bar and 45 litres per minute at 1 bar — providing powerful simultaneous hot water to multiple outlets without shower pumps or loft tanks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between the Megaflo Eco SystemReady and the standard Megaflo Eco Indirect?
Both use the same duplex stainless steel cylinder and coil-in-coil heat exchanger. The key difference is that the SystemReady arrives factory pre-plumbed and pre-wired — the cylinder thermostat, thermal cut-out, motorised valve, and wiring centre are already assembled and connected on the cylinder body, saving significant on-site labour. The SystemReady is also specifically configured for system boilers and includes a second zone heating tapping. The standard Eco Indirect is a bare cylinder requiring the installer to fit and wire the controls on site.
Can the Megaflo Eco SystemReady be used with a heat-only (regular) boiler?
No — the SystemReady is specifically designed for system boilers, which have their own integral pump and expansion vessel. For use with a heat-only (regular) boiler — which requires an external pump, feed-and-expansion cistern, or a separate primary pump and controls — Heatrae Sadia recommend the Megaflo Eco SystemFit range instead, which is configured for that application.
Do I need an expansion vessel with the SystemReady?
The domestic hot water circuit does not require a separate expansion vessel — the cylinder's internal floating-baffle system handles DHW expansion. However, the primary heating circuit must have its own expansion vessel, which on a system boiler is typically integral to the boiler. Additionally, a primary circuit expansion relief valve is supplied with the SystemReady and must be fitted correctly — the cylinder's safety valves protect only the DHW side.
Why is the SystemReady's footprint depth larger than the standard Eco Indirect?
The SystemReady's overall depth is 710 mm (minimum space requirement also 710 mm) compared to 600 mm on a standard Eco Indirect. This is because the factory-fitted plumbing and control assembly protrudes from the side of the cylinder. Installers must ensure the airing cupboard or plant room provides at least 710 mm depth and 690 mm width to accommodate the pre-plumbed unit. This space requirement should be confirmed before ordering.
What is the guarantee on the Megaflo Eco SystemReady?
Heatrae Sadia provide a lifetime guarantee on the inner duplex stainless steel tank for domestic first-owner installations (30 years transferable). The pre-fitted pump and motorised valve carry a 2-year warranty; all other components — valves, immersion heater, wiring centre — also have a 2-year warranty. Warranty validity requires correct installation to G3 and the appropriate Building Regulations, plus annual servicing and a completed Benchmark checklist.
