KEY FEATURES
High-Output Primary Coil

The Eco Plus Indirect features an enlarged primary coil capable of 42 kW output on 250/300i models (at 15 l/min, 80 °C flow) and up to 56.9 kW on the 400i at 60 l/min — enabling outstanding first-hour and continuous hot water performance. First-hour output reaches 898 litres (250i) and 1,485 litres (400i) at ΔT 45 K.

Higher Operating Pressure — 3.5 Bar

Eco Plus cylinders operate at 3.5 bar — 0.5 bar higher than the standard Eco range — delivering even more powerful flow rates to multiple simultaneous outlets. This makes the Eco Plus the right choice for large homes with several bathrooms, high-demand en suites, or applications requiring oversized showerheads and fast-fill bathtubs.

Expansion Vessel Supplied

Unlike the standard Eco Indirect, every Eco Plus Indirect includes a potable-water expansion vessel as standard — 24 litres (250i/300i) or 35 litres (400i–570i), pre-set at 3 bar with ¾" BSP connection. This simplifies installation planning and ensures compliance with system-expansion requirements without additional component sourcing.

Enhanced Insulation on Larger Models

The 250i and 300i carry 60 mm CFC/HCFC-free polyurethane foam insulation matching the standard Eco range. The 400i, 500i, and 570i step up to 100 mm insulation — reducing proportional standing losses for these larger vessels and delivering excellent heat retention performance in commercial plant-room environments.

Marine Grade Duplex on 400–570 L

The three largest Eco Plus Indirect models (400i, 500i, 570i) use Marine Grade Duplex 2205 stainless steel — a higher-specification alloy used in demanding marine and industrial environments, offering superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. All models are pressure-tested to 15 bar and backed by the Megaflo lifetime inner-tank guarantee.

Full Safety & Control Kit Supplied

Every Eco Plus Indirect includes a 3.5 bar PRV (6 bar on 250/300i), 8 bar pressure relief valve, ¼-turn isolator, line strainer, non-return valve, factory-fitted 90 °C / 10 bar T&P valve, tundish, drain valve, additional thermostat and thermal cut-out, wiring centre, and 2-port motorised valve — a complete installation pack out of the box.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes the Eco Plus Indirect different from the standard Megaflo Eco Indirect?
The Eco Plus Indirect offers three key advances: (1) higher operating pressure at 3.5 bar vs 3 bar on the standard Eco; (2) a larger-capacity coil rated up to 56.9 kW (vs 24.3 kW on a 300i standard) for dramatically faster recovery on large cylinders; and (3) a supplied expansion vessel — on the standard Eco, DHW expansion is managed internally, but the Eco Plus uses an external vessel, giving engineers more flexibility in primary circuit design. The 400i–570i also use Marine Grade Duplex 2205 steel and 100 mm insulation.
Is the Eco Plus suitable for heat pump installations?
The 250i and 300i Eco Plus are rated at 15 l/min primary flow, which can suit some heat pump configurations; the 400i–570i require 60 l/min primary flow and are better suited to high-output heating plant. Heat pumps typically operate at lower flow temperatures (35–55 °C) than the 80 °C coil-rating basis — this will reduce effective coil output. For dedicated heat-pump cylinder applications, please contact us for specification advice to confirm compatibility.
Does the Eco Plus Indirect come with an expansion vessel?
Yes — every Eco Plus Indirect includes a potable-water expansion vessel: 24 litres (250i/300i) or 35 litres (400i–570i), pre-set at 3 bar. This is included in the product package. Note that this vessel covers the DHW circuit only; the primary (heating) circuit expansion vessel must be provided separately as required by your boiler manufacturer.
What size Eco Plus Indirect do I need?
As a general guide: 250i suits 4–5 bedroom homes with 2–3 bathrooms; 300i suits 5–6 bedroom homes or high simultaneous demand; 400i–570i are suited to large domestic properties with multiple bathrooms and en suites, or light commercial premises. The first-hour performance figure (litres at ΔT 45K) is the most useful sizing metric for high-demand applications — this ranges from 898 l/hr (250i) to 1,592 l/hr (570i). Contact us for a sizing consultation.
What is the guarantee on the Megaflo Eco Plus?
Heatrae Sadia provide a lifetime guarantee on the inner stainless steel tank for first-owner domestic installations (30 years transferable to subsequent owners). All other components — valves, immersion heater, motorised valve, wiring centre, expansion vessel — carry a 2-year warranty. Warranty validity requires correct installation by a competent person, annual servicing, and a completed Benchmark commissioning checklist.
