ENGO ECB62-ZB ZigBee Smart UFH Control Box – 6 Wireless + 2 Wired Zones, 230V, DIN Rail | App Control
The ENGO ECB62-ZB is a ZigBee 3.0 smart underfloor heating control box with 6 wireless zones and 2 wired zones — giving 8-zone capacity with the flexibility of cable-free thermostat placement. The 6 wireless zones pair directly with ENGO EONE or E25 ZigBee thermostats; the 2 wired zones accept any standard 230V or battery-powered thermostat. Built-in pump and boiler modules, up to 50 actuators, DIN rail mounting, and full app control via EGATE-PRO gateway make this the ideal choice for modern smart UFH installations.
Why Choose the ENGO ECB62-ZB?
ZigBee 3.0 thermostats pair directly with the box — no thermostat wiring to 6 zones, dramatically simplifying installation.
Two hard-wired zone inputs for 230V or battery thermostats — maximise flexibility for locations where wiring is already in place.
230V pump output with 3-minute start delay and adjustable stop delay (0–15 minutes) — no extra relay needed.
NO/COM/NC relay triggers any gas, oil, LPG, or electric heat source when any zone calls for heat.
Directly bind ZigBee thermostats to the control box — operates offline even if the internet or gateway is unavailable.
With EGATE-PRO gateway, full remote scheduling, monitoring, and rule creation from the ENGO Smart app.
Drives up to 50 NC thermoelectric actuators (e.g. E30NC-230) across all zones without additional relays.
Includes a magnetic-base antenna on a 1 m cable — extend antenna outside the enclosure for improved ZigBee range.
Pump shutdown delay configurable: OFF, 3, 5, or 15 minutes — protect the system and prevent short cycling.
Mounts on DIN rail (panel box) or flat surface — fits standard manifold cabinets and consumer unit enclosures.
Bound thermostats continue to control zones without internet — ZigBee Binding maintains direct device communication.
Full 5-year ENGO manufacturer's warranty.

About the ECB62-ZB
The ECB62-ZB is the ZigBee-enabled evolution of the ECB8-230 wired wiring centre. Its 6 wireless ZigBee zones eliminate the need to run thermostat cables to those rooms entirely — the ENGO EONE or E25 thermostats pair over ZigBee 3.0 and communicate their heat demand directly to the control box. The 2 wired zones accept conventional 230V or battery-powered volt-free thermostats for locations where wiring is already installed.
📱 Smart Control with EGATE-PRO Gateway
- Remote monitoring and control of all 8 zones from the ENGO Smart app
- Full 7-day schedule programming per zone via the app
- Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control
- Automation rules — e.g. reduce all zones when no occupancy detected
- Geofencing via SmartLife app — auto-adjust heating as you leave or return
- Heating history and zone activity monitoring
EGATE-PRO gateway sold separately.
ENGO Binding creates a direct ZigBee link between each wireless thermostat and the corresponding zone on the ECB62-ZB — bypassing the need for the gateway or internet. Each bound thermostat sends its heat demand signal directly to the control box and the corresponding actuators open or close accordingly. This means the system keeps functioning perfectly even if the EGATE-PRO is offline or the internet is down.
The ECB62-ZB includes a magnetic-base ZigBee antenna on a 1 m cable, allowing the antenna to be positioned outside a metal cabinet for significantly improved wireless range compared to internal antennas. This is particularly valuable in steel-frame or metal-clad plant room enclosures.
Unlike the ECB8-230 which has a fixed 3-minute pump overrun, the ECB62-ZB allows the pump shutdown delay to be configured via the app: OFF (immediate), 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 15 minutes. Longer delays allow residual heat to be distributed through the floor circuits before the pump stops, improving system efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the gateway to use this?
No — wireless thermostats can be bound directly to the ECB62-ZB using ENGO Binding, without a gateway. The gateway (EGATE-PRO or EGATEZB) is needed only for app control, remote access, voice commands, and cloud-based scheduling.
What thermostats are compatible with the wireless zones?
The 6 wireless zones are compatible with ENGO EONE and E25 series ZigBee thermostats only (230V and battery versions). Other ZigBee thermostat brands are not supported on the wireless zone inputs.
Can the 2 wired zones be used with wireless thermostats?
The wired zones accept hard-wired 230V or volt-free (COM/NO) thermostats only. However, an ETR-868 wireless relay kit can bridge a wireless signal to one of the wired inputs if cable routing is impractical.
What is the maximum number of actuators?
Up to 50 actuators at 2W each can be connected across all 8 zones. Each zone supports up to 6 actuators directly. For more than 6 actuators on a single zone, add an ENGO ERM-12A relay to distribute the load.
How does ENGO Binding work without the internet?
ENGO Binding creates a permanent direct ZigBee link between each thermostat and its corresponding zone on the ECB62-ZB. The thermostat sends heat demand commands directly to the control box over ZigBee — without routing through the gateway or internet. This means the UFH system keeps working during broadband outages.
What is the difference between ECB62-ZB and ECB8-230?
The ECB8-230 is a fully wired 8-zone box — all thermostat connections require physical cable runs. The ECB62-ZB replaces 6 of those cable runs with wireless ZigBee connections, saving significant installation time and disruption, and adds app control capability via the EGATE-PRO gateway.
