Features & Benefits
✔ Microcomputer Constant Temperature Control
The 16S's microcomputer intelligent control system continuously reads data from the water flow sensor, inlet temperature sensor, and outlet temperature sensor — and adjusts the proportional gas valve in real time to deliver the set temperature precisely, regardless of changes in flow rate, inlet water temperature, or gas supply pressure. This is what distinguishes the 16S from basic on/off instantaneous heaters that require manual tap adjustment to find a comfortable temperature: open the tap and the water arrives at the set point, whether that is 40°C for handwashing or 55°C for a bath. The outlet temperature remains stable even when a second outlet opens mid-draw.
✔ 16 L/min — True Multipoint Performance
At 16 L/min at a 25°C temperature rise (based on 12°C cold inlet delivering 37°C at the outlet), the 16S is rated for genuine simultaneous multipoint use — a shower and a basin, or two basins in sequence without the temperature faltering between users. The maximum heat input of 30kW (27.4kW useful output on G20) underpins this high flow capacity. For properties stepping up from the 14S (28kW, 14 L/min), the 16S provides approximately 14% more flow capacity — meaningful in a busy household or a commercial washroom where back-to-back demand is the norm.
✔ 0.2 Bar Minimum Pressure — Low-Pressure Compatible
The 16S activates at a minimum inlet pressure of 0.2 bar (0.02 MPa) and a minimum flow rate of 2.5 L/min — among the lowest activation thresholds available for a 30kW instantaneous heater. This makes it suitable for rural properties, upper-floor flats, loft conversions, and any location where mains pressure can be marginal. The fan-assisted sealed flue (type C) means the appliance draws combustion air from and exhausts to outside via the coaxial duct — installation is not dependent on a room with adequate ventilation, further extending the range of viable locations.
✔ LCD Touch Panel — AI Memory — Real-Time Gas Display
The large digital LCD display shows the set outlet temperature, live flame feedback icon, fan status, and draw-off indicator at a glance. Two soft-touch buttons step the temperature up or down: fine 1°C increments from 35–48°C (the child lock range), then 5°C steps to 65°C. The AI memory function retains the last set temperature when the unit is powered off or reset — the heater is ready at the preferred setting without reprogramming. The function mode also displays real-time gas consumption in m³/h during operation, and cumulative water and gas usage over the appliance's lifetime — useful for running cost monitoring.
✔ Nine Built-In Safety Systems — Child Lock
The 16S incorporates nine independent safety protection systems: self-check protection, flame-out protection, overheat protection, accidental power-cut protection, fan breakdown protection, electric overload protection, electric leakage protection, high wind pressure protection, and over-temperature protection. A dedicated child lock function prevents the temperature being raised above 48°C without first turning off the draw-off — avoiding accidental scalds when children operate the controls. The display shows a padlock icon when the child lock is active and flashes a warning when an attempt is made to exceed the 48°C threshold mid-draw.
✔ NOx Class 6 — ErP A — Italian Design
Manufactured by BSG Caldaie a Gas S.p.A. in Pordenone, Italy — part of the Biasi Group with roots in the heating industry since 1938. The 16S achieves NOx Class 6 (the highest class) with weighted NOx emissions of 30.53 ppm — confirming ultra-low nitrogen oxide output for an appliance of this output class. ErP water heating energy efficiency class AWH 80.5%) with declared load profile XL — the highest load class, confirming the unit's capacity for high-demand applications. Compliant with the Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426 and Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose the 16S or the 14S?
The choice comes down to peak simultaneous hot water demand. The 14S (28kW, 14 L/min) is suitable for a 1–2 bathroom property with normal sequential use — one shower or one bath at a time. The 16S (30kW, 16 L/min) adds approximately 14% more flow capacity, making it the better choice for properties with two bathrooms used concurrently, a large-volume shower head, or a high-demand kitchen alongside a bathroom. As a practical guide: at a UK winter cold inlet of ~10°C, the 16S delivers approximately 9.5 L/min at a comfortable 42°C outlet — enough for a good-flow shower and a running basin simultaneously. Both models are physically identical in size and connect identically; the 16S costs marginally more but provides significantly more headroom for peak demand.
Does this heater work without mains electricity?
No — the Biasi Multipoint 16S requires a 230V mains electrical supply for the microcomputer control system, the DC fan (which provides forced combustion air and post-ventilation), the electronic ignition, and the LCD display. A switchable fused spur must be installed adjacent to the appliance. The unit will not operate during a power cut — no electrical supply means no ignition, no fan, and no combustion. This is a fundamental characteristic of all modern room-sealed fan-flued gas water heaters. For properties with frequent power interruptions, a small UPS may allow continued operation, though this should be discussed with the installer and Biasi before specifying.
What flue kit do I need?
The Biasi Multipoint 16S uses a 60/100mm coaxial flue system (type C13 horizontal through-wall or C33 vertical roof terminal). A flue kit is required for installation and is typically sold separately or as a bundle with the heater. For a standard horizontal through-wall installation, a 60/100 horizontal flue kit provides the terminal, coaxial pipe, elbow, seals, and fixings. For longer runs or where bends are required to navigate around obstacles, extension pipes and additional elbows are available from Biasi. Maximum permitted flue lengths vary depending on the number of bends — refer to the installation manual's flue duct length table before finalising the installation position.
How do I register the guarantee and what does it cover?
The 2-year parts and labour guarantee must be registered by calling Biasi UK on 01922 714600 within 30 days of purchase. Have your installer's details ready as Biasi require these to validate the warranty. The guarantee covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when the appliance has been installed and commissioned in accordance with the installation manual and the Benchmark commissioning checklist has been completed. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by installation errors, use of incorrect gas type, inadequate water quality, or failure to maintain the appliance as recommended. Annual servicing by a Gas Safe registered engineer is strongly recommended.
Can it be converted from natural gas to LPG (or vice versa)?
Yes — the Multipoint 16S can be converted between natural gas (G20) and LPG (G30 butane / G31 propane) using the appropriate Biasi conversion kit. Gas conversion is a Gas Safe registered engineer task only — it involves changing the burner injectors, adjusting the gas valve pressure settings, and updating the appliance data plate. Do not attempt to operate the unit on a gas type different from its current setting without conversion. Biasi UK supplies conversion kits — contact them at 01922 714600 or via biasi.co.uk. Note that converted units must be recommissioned with the Benchmark checklist updated to reflect the new gas type.
What do the error codes on the display mean?
The Biasi Multipoint 16S displays a flashing fault code on the LCD screen when the onboard diagnostics detect an abnormal condition — rather than simply stopping without explanation. For most fault codes, the recommended first step is: turn off the hot water outlet, press the On/Off button to switch the unit off, wait a few seconds, switch back on, then reopen the outlet. This clears transient faults (such as ignition failure on first use after a gas interruption, where air in the supply pipe causes several retry cycles). If the fault code persists after two or three attempts, turn off the gas valve and cut the power, and contact your Gas Safe registered engineer. A full list of error codes and their meanings is provided in Section 6.2 of the Biasi Multipoint installation manual, downloadable from biasi.co.uk.
